Demado - Three Words, One goal
Design, Make, Do

Working with you to transform your concept into a reality; embracing both disruptive and subtractive technologies.

About Us

Demado is an South Australian based business providing cost effective engineering services. With a strong focus on both additive and subtractive manufacturing, we are well positioned to assist our customers with their design, manufacturing and remanufacturing needs.

Working Together

We understand that outsourcing can sometimes be daunting and therefore we work hard to forge a trusted partnership with our customers – no matter how small the task. Working together with your subject matter experts, we aim to deliver a dependable service which complements your business requirements or project needs.

FAQ

No is the short answer. The water component of the slurry provides a hydraulic cushioning effect that soften the microbead’s impact on the metal’s surface. We use either Aluminium Oxide or a very fine glass bead.

Preferably to save you cost we would ask you to remove grease, oil and loose paint. Otherwise we can offer this service but i will add to the turnaround time.

If you are sensitive about your IP you can provide us with a *stl file although we would prefer a *stp/*step file incase we need to manipulate the design to ensure critical dimension are maintained.

For FDM printing we have invested in the Markforged series of printers and use the Onyx and Onyx FR base materials which contain chopped Carbon Fiber.

To significantly increase the strength we can then include continuous fiber filament containing Carbon Fiber, Kevlar or Fiber Glass depending on the application.

Through a partnership we can also assist with SLS printing using a high quality medical grade Nylon

Our Capabilities

Engineering Design

At Demado we have a broad range of experience in mechanical design, yielding from various industries such as Aerospace & Defence, high pressure pneumatics and medical equipment. Utilising Creo, Inventor and Fusion 360 we are able to rapidly convert ideas to reality, producing drawings to AS1100.

Reverse Engineering

There are a number of ways in which a manufactured part can be re-engineered when no longer commercially available or the original tooling is obsolete. We can facilite in 3D scanning with mesh to solid conversion, silicon moulding as well as conventional CAD modelling techniques.

Prototyping

Demado can assist customers with proof of concept 3D modeling, manufacture through additive and subtractive techniques and assistance with connecting third-party manufacturing facilities, when aiming to introduce a concept into production.

Soft tooling

To enable the designing and 3D printing of soft tooling for machine vices, jigs and fixtures, Demado utilises a range of high temperature nylon based materials, containing chopped carbon fiber. Outsourcing these sometimes minor tasks, ensures minimal downtime in highly productive manufacturing facilities.

3D Print / Manufacture on demand

At Demado we provide a 3D print / manufacture on demand service, ensuring engineers are able to quickly and effectively meet their targets – vital when working in an agile, time-sensitive environment.

Silicon Mould Making

As part of our reverse engineering process we are able to make reproduction parts using silicon moulding; casting in a variety of materials including wax, UV resistant resins and hard foams.

Investment / Sand Casting

With an aluminium casting capability of 8 Kg, Demado can effectively cater for low volume manufacture. This is made possible through utilising a range of sand or investment casting techniques, including additional heat-treatment when required.

CNC Machining

Over the years we have established relationships with a number of CNC machine shops which assist us with our outsourced work. Depending on the requirements, they are able to assist with both milling and turning operations up to 9 axis.

Vapour Blasting

This finishing process is used to remove machining marks and establish a uniform surface finish, as well as restore castings by removing grime and oxidation. At Demado we are able to accomodate components as big as an automotive gearbox, specifically 400mm x 400mm x 500mm.
